Dr. LeBron Paige, UAB Epilepsy Specialist Visits ASCCA

Dr. Paige was instrumental in helping many of our epilepsy campers attend camp this summer. He’s visiting to gain insights on how to increase participation among others, be the other doctors, medical staff, parents and more. We’re grateful for his support of Camp ASCCA. Another First :: Allison Wetherbee Goes Tubing

Ya’ know, most everything Allison’s done in her life has been a first.  Oh, yes … there are others born without arms or legs that have done remarkable things … but, Allison seems to be the one camper / outdoor recreation enthusiast we’ve found.  She loves to try new things. Years ago, as a camper, Allison [...]

Flashback: Staff had a Putt-Putt Tourney during Staff Orientation … more video

A little flashback via video from last week’s staff orientation. Counselors and program staff enjoyed a cookout and fun putt-putt tourney during the week. Hey, we had to get them use to all the program areas, right? ;o) So, why not have a little fun, too. Fun, is - after all - what we’re [...]

Oh, Amber and Kayla and Jonathan were *very* busy today. A large group of campers (throughout the day) chose to conquer the zipline. Conquer it they did. This video takes you through the ropes of guys and girls going up the tower and down the zipline. Yes, the staff got a workout today, but don’t worry. [...]

If you were there … how it sounds

Jayla took on the challenge of the  Zipline today.    All too often, I share the video, but not much of the ambient sound. So, today I thought I’d share just a glimpse of what it is like taking these children up into the tower and then off the Zipline. Just the video and audio … no [...]
